We have managed to acquire renowned local chef Donald Munro.  Donald is proud of his a la carte menu which is accompanied by a superb selection of fine wines supplied by T.M. Robertson of Edinburgh.

Whatever you order, you can be assured your food will be carefully prepared using the best of produce, locally-sourced, with fresh fish a daily speciality.

If you're lucky on the river we'll be more than happy to cook your catch for supper.

The Dining experience is continued as the dining room has been completely refurbished in the beautiful muted classic shades by Farrow and Ball, which complement the mixture of new and antique pieces such as the stunning antler chandeliers adding grandeur to this charismatic room.

After dinner you'll be free to relax over coffee in the lounge or retreat to the Anglers' Nook bar, where you might sample from our fine selection of single malts.

We also now offer a Sunday Carvery from 12:30 to 3pm.

Pictured below are a few our kitchen's regular specialities, prepared by our chef using the finest of produce.

A long tradition of deep-sea and coastal fishing from the many harbours around our coastline ensures that the local market in Scrabster, even in these times of scarcity and restrictions, has a wonderful variety of the very freshest foods the sea has to offer. Cod, haddock, monkfish, sole, halibut, squid, langoustines and lobster......any one of these delicious delicacies may appear on the menu. If you have a special favourite, let us know.

Caithness beef, reared locally and raised on the lush, green pasture between sea and moorland, is second to none in quality and flavour. Again, the remote location has worked to our advantage by preserving the integrity and robust health of fully-accredited herds. Vast acreages of windswept hill land are useless for arable crops, but our sheep-farmers make use of it to produce the fine, cross-bred lambs for which the county is rightly famous.

With salmon from the river beside us, venison and game from the hill beyond, we know exactly where our meat  comes from and are confident that we have the very best available.

In spite of the short growing-season and strong, salty breezes, fruit and vegetable growers are producing more and more varieties under the protection of poly-tunnels. With strawberries and raspberries available from growers in our own village and a plentiful, local supply of potatoes, carrots, cabbages and salad, we can always put the freshest of fruit and vegetables on the table.
