Ulbster Lodge is located to the rear of the hotel, only a stone’s throw away from the main building. Of our three lodges, this is the most traditional: think solid wood furniture, snug plaid throws and cottage-style windows. The bedrooms are decorated in keeping with the area, with thoughtful touches and attention to detail. The combination of the renovated stone-built barn and its modern extension offers a true haven in which to unwind.
The Lodge has two double bedrooms and one twin bedroom, all with ensuite shower rooms, complimentary toiletries, flat-screen TVs, high-speed free wifi and tea and coffee making facilities with locally baked biscuits. Free parking is available outside, and breakfast is the full Scottish number, with fresh fruit, juice, yoghurt and cereal too.

Ulbster lodge is ideal for larger groups, as it allows you to enjoy a private communal lounge and dining space away from the bustle of the main hotel building. Or, if you’re booking a single room in Ulbster Lodge, the shared downstairs space offers the opportunity to meet fellow travellers and share stories of your adventures in Caithness and Sutherland.
At the end of a busy day, relax in front of the wood burning stove in the lounge while chatting with your companions or catching up on your favourite sports or box sets on the Sky TV.
