Directions to the Ulbster Arms Hotel and Lodges

The Ulbster Arms Hotel and Lodges is in the small village of Halkirk in Caithness. We’re just a few minutes from the A9 - turn onto the B874 at Roadside and follow the road into Halkirk. Turn right when you reach the T-junction with McColl’s shop on your right. Drive past the church and clock tower, and you’ll find the hotel on the left-hand side. Parking is to the rear.

From the north and west

Head to Thurso, then take the A9 south in the direction of Latheron. The turn-off at Roadside is around 8 minutes from Thurso.

From the south

Take the A9 north until you reach Latheron. You have to turn off the main road to stay on the A9; it’s signposted Thurso/Scrabster. From the Latheron junction, it’s around 20 minutes (18 miles) to the Halkirk turn off at Roadside.

From the east

Head to Wick, then take the A882 to the Halkirk turn-off at Roadside. This takes around 20 minutes (15 miles).
