At the Ulbster Arms Hotel and Lodges we offer several options for your dining experience. If you’re looking for relaxed or family-friendly dining, the Lounge Bar offers traditional comfort, while for finer dining, Beat 4 restaurant presents a more formal but still relaxed setting. During the summer months, light bites and nibbles are available to order in the marquee, and we host occasional BBQs in the beer garden. You’re sure to have your appetite satisfied when you dine with us.

The Lounge Bar offers a more relaxed and family-friendly alternative to our Beat 4 restaurant, with the same high quality, locally-sourced ingredients and excellent service.
The Lounge bar offers a welcome retreat from the crisp outdoors in autumn and winter with its roaring fire and cosy booth seating. It’s spread over a couple of levels, so you can find the perfect spot in which to enjoy your meal.

Enjoy specially curated daily menus in our Beat 4 restaurant, so named as it sits opposite Beat 4 on the River Thurso, which is well known as one of the best salmon fishing rivers in Scotland.
With its high ceilings, stunning antler chandeliers, plush carpets and colour scheme that’s been carefully chosen to reflect the hotel’s natural environment, Beat 4 is a traditional Highland space in which to enjoy the creations from our kitchen. Our friendly team will find you the perfect table.
The à la carte menu is sourced and produced daily by our team of chefs, so advance booking of a minimum of 48 hours is recommended.
With its wooden picnic benches and sheltered position, the beer garden is perfect for sunny day socialising. Next to the beer garden, the marquee is a relaxed, spacious area with its own bar and wooden tables that seat between four and eight people. It’s a great option for catching up in a larger group.
